Both films concern the connection of the camera in the "Low" version, without „dynamic” guide lines. The previous video shows how to connect the signal cable to the infotainment control module and how to activate the display function using the VCDS program. The current video shows how to connect a simple cam bought on the popular Eastern portal. The camera cost about $35 (including cables and filter), so retrofitting was done at low cost. The camera fits the handle with a width of about 11 cm, so to newer Octavia models. The quality can be said to be good at this price level. Yes, grain is visible, but it all depends on expectations. For the price we had rather small expectations, so for us the effect is satisfactory. Unfortunately, we do not have an original camera from Octavia or another twin model of the group, so we can not compare how the image from such a cheap cam is to the original. The cable routing is just an example. You can try the top, under the headlining, but here you have to be careful with airbags. You can also try the left side. To connect the power we used an additional wire in the signal cable insulation, but you can also connect directly to the power of reverse light. In such a set as ours, it is easier with the attached simple filter (coil, capacitor and diode I think). IMPORTANT: Thanks to M L user for paying attention. He checked that when connecting the power supply to the radio module (as in the movie), the camera would be powered all the time. Therefore, you can connect the camera power supply to the reversing light power supply (but through the filter so that the image does not blink). The reversing light power cables are available under the car's door sill covers (black cables, one with white, the other with a blue thin stripe), or can be found at the light sockets under the upholstery in the trunk. You can also connect to another power cord available after ignition. This is how the self-dimming mirror is connected (installation shown in another video on the channel). There we used a thick red power cord under the front door sill. The power supply is available on it after ignition and cut off about half a minute after turning off.
