A 30-minute boat ride from Anheung Outer Harbor, the island is covered in lush primeval forest and bizarre rock formations sculpted by the sea, making it aptly titled "an island playground created by the sea." 📍 Highlights of this island trek ☆​Mysterious Pine Tree Trail: A pine tree path, lined with lush pine and Japanese pine trees, feels like walking through a natural tunnel! I enjoyed a healing trek in the cool shade, relieving me of the midsummer heat. ☆​Shinjangbeol, the Hawaii of the West Sea: The trekking course ends at Sinjangbeol Beach, boasting fine sand and clear waters unlike any other in the West Sea. Next to the beach stands the majestic Independence Gate Rock, Gaeido's signature landmark. ☆​Climbing the Observatory: After a short climb up the steep hill, you'll be greeted by a fantastic view of the azure sea surrounding the island. ​It was a hot summer, and I was sweating, but the clear, transparent sea and cool sea breeze completely healed my weary body and mind.
