Detective Lynn Nobles: An interview with the investigator of the “Bitter Blood” Murder Case

On Tuesday, July 24, 1984, a friend discovered 68 year-old Delores Lynch, deceased, on the driveway outside her home. Upon arrival, the police– including Oldham County detective Lynn Nobles– also discovered Delores’s 39-year-old daughter Janie inside. Both women had died from gunshot wounds that appeared to be from a professional hit. Before it was all said and done, 7 more would be dead and two families nearly destroyed. This bizarre and tragic murder case, as detailed by Jerry Bledsoe in his best-selling true crime book “Bitter Blood” and a subsequent 1994 made for TV miniseries, was the subject of a Scandal Water episode last September.
