[Synopsis] As a result of a revision of the Navy's Plan 3, the Empire of Japan quietly completed the construction of a giant aircraft carrier in place of the Yamato battleship. By October 1941, just before the outbreak of war between Japan and the United States, they had acquired two 54,000-ton aircraft carriers capable of carrying 100 aircraft. These ships were named the Shinano and Izumo. August 1, 1941. The United States imposed a total oil embargo on Japan. Whether aware of the American conspiracy or not, the Empire of Japan, cornered by the Hull Note, declared war on the United States, Britain, and the Netherlands on December 8th, in the name of the cause of liberating Asia. The Japanese Navy committed all its forces to the Hawaii invasion, despite the inevitable outbreak of hostilities. Finding a way out of the overwhelmingly superior war against the United States, they planned the Hawaii invasion and launched the attack on Pearl Harbor.
