Lexus RX300 02 w 3.0 bank 1 missfires vvt code p1349

Description: This 02 Lexus RX 300 with a 3.0l vvt engine, was setting a p1349 code for a variable cam timing problem. This was causing p300 missfire codes for bank 1 (odd) numbered cylinders on the RH side of the engine. The (OCV) or oil control valve was sticking at normal engine temps causing the bank 1 cam to be advanced or retarded at positions other than commanded by the computer. This was verified by a couple of easy tests that are shown. And after replacement of the (OCV), all is well again. If funds permit, it would be an advantage to replace both L/R bank OCV`s at the same time.
