Varsouvianna

The Varsouvianna is over 250 years old. At one time the dance was danced throughout the civilized world. In each country variations to the dance were invented that reflected the country. This video shows the basic Mazurka step and four of these variations. The Director and Narrator for the performance was Calvin Campbell. The dancers were drawn from three performance exhibition teams from the Denver area of Colorado. The names of the three dance troupes were Colorado Dancers, High Country Dancers and the Colorado Rocky Mountain Dancers. This video was edited from a longer 1 hour and 15 minute presentation about square dancing in the Midwest and West.
