Diary of a 5 to 9 Artist | Episode 1 In this weekly series, I document the progress that I make as an aspiring fantasy oil painter with a 9 to 5 job as a geologist. This episode focuses on my progress on my "cartoon" or general outline. This is one of the most difficult parts of a painting since it requires so many choices as I take the images from my head, and get them onto a panel. Perspective, poses, and balances within the storytelling all came up during this process. But I was able to push through and complete my goal! Next week it's onto shading, and that's when things really start to come to life.
