Transform Your Windsurfing Sessions | Pro Boom Setup Tips

Welcome back to The Ride Along Sessions — kicking off Summer 2026 here in Vasiliki, Greece 🇬🇷 In this video, I run through my full boom setup from fresh out the box, including harness lines, outhaul, and uphaul — plus all the small details that make a BIG difference on the water. It might seem simple, but dialing in your setup properly can completely transform your session — from just cruising to being fully powered, locked in, and loving every second. Join me for one-to-one coaching sessions right here in this windsurfing paradise! 📬 For lessons and coaching enquiries, email me at: [email protected] KEY SETUP TAKEAWAYS (SAVE THIS) Adjustable harness lines are better than fixed (adapt to conditions and kit) Make sure lines are the correct way round (adjuster on back hand) Do not overtighten harness lines - keep them loose enough to slide and adjust on the water Harness line position will NEVER be perfect on the beach - adjust while sailing Small movements (a few cm) make a BIG difference Use a SHORT (kids/junior) uphaul for less swing and better control Avoid leaving your uphaul under constant tension when not in use Boom height basics: Lower = easier handling (beginners, freestyle, manoeuvres) Higher = more power and earlier planing Adjust depending on your goal for the session Changing boom height changes your outhaul tension (do not forget this) Outhaul basics: More outhaul = flatter sail = more control and less power Less outhaul = more depth = more power Flatter sail helps going upwind Fuller sail gives more drive downwind On wave/freestyle sails: keep clew tight to the boom (no gap) On freerace sails: leave a small gap for battens to rotate properly Typical outhaul adjustments: Underpowered = less outhaul Powered = neutral Overpowered = plus 2 to 4 cm Changing outhaul may require adjusting harness lines again Small tweaks make a massive difference - experiment during your session. 📲 Follow me for regular updates, coaching tips, and behind-the-scenes content: Instagram:   / cookiesport   TikTok:   / ridealongcookie   Join the Facebook Coaching community with Cookie....   / cookiecoaching   Looking for a great place to stay in Vassiliki?
