Surrey Fire Service: False Alarm Triggers a FULL STRUCTURE FIRE RESPONSE

On July 17, 2026, Surrey Fire Service responded to a 911 call about a house burning. 6 SFS units along with RCMP responded to what they believed was a residential structure fire. However, once they arrived at the scene, it was determined to be a false alarm. It is unknown why a 911 call was made, perhaps it was done in a panic due to a small fire that was dramatized over the phone, or maybe it was a fire alarm system malfunction. Whatever it was, units quickly left the scene just minutes after arriving.
