Subaru XV offroad at River Island 4WD Park
Short series of movies taken on the weekend of 11th and 12th May, 2013 of my 6,000km-old 2013 Subaru XV 2.0iS trying some of the tracks on offer at River Island 4WD Park in NSW. All in all I wanted to see how it would fare in the company of other similar 4WD's such as the Forester and Outback. I think that it did very well, and rather than the traction control or drive to any wheel failing, the smooth HT tyres were not really up to it. They were aired down to 18psi and performed much better. I still didn't wish to do too much damage to sills and front spoiler, so I didn't go all gung-ho at it. The river crossing (and back) left a tide mark right across the middle of the bonnet, so it was reasonably deep, and I certainly wouldn't wish to wade any deeper without a blind. Great fun, and thanks to my new friends at the Subaru & Recreational 4WD Club for the introductory trip. You're a great bunch :)
