1942. In a Gulag camp, an NKVD execution squad encounters an anomaly that shatters their psyche. Sentenced to death, "enemies of the people," shot and thrown into a mass grave, do not stay dead. After several hours, the bodies begin to stir, rise, and silently wander deep into the taiga. Repeated shots cause no harm.
