HUGE Tortoise Found in NJ!!

Garden State Tortoise has become quite the rescue in the last 10 years and we take in all reptilian walks of life. Of course red eared sliders and sulcata (aka African spur-thighed) tortoises are common place but usually they come through zoos or directly from the people who simply cannot care for them anymore or want a better home for them. All too often, pet keepers underestimate the power and/or intelligence of an animal and it escapes, never to be seen again....at least by them. Sometimes things get extreme and people will actually just ditch an exotic animal in a place where they absolutely cannot survive long term.
