This vast, supernatural wetland is characterized by murky waters, thick mangroves, overgrown ruins, dilapidated fishing villages, and a pervasive sickly-sweet stench of decay that gives the zone its name. The environment blends natural beauty with heavy corruption, featuring glowing Azoth-infused flora, submerged ancient structures, an ever present haunting swamp fog and the lingering presence of the Siren Queen’s Lost forces. Reekwater’s story revolves around failed settler ambitions, the arrival and corruption of the Siren Queen’s flotilla, and the clash over Azoth between Ancient Guardians and the Angry Earth Dryads. Journals and environmental storytelling explore themes of lost souls, desperate power grabs, the life cycle of Dryads, and the corrupting beauty of the swamp.
