7年以后第一次回到家乡山西，与许久未见的家人上五台山。 It's been 7 years since we last visited this ancestral home. Our family took us to the nearby sacred Buddhist Mountain Mount Wutai, a UNESCO heritage site. 看到了心念已久的唐朝古建佛光寺，体验到了梁思成与林徽因一百年前刚刚发现这里时感受到的震撼。 Here we finally was able to visit Foguang Temple, an extremely rare architectural piece from the Tang Dynasty (one of the only 3 remaining in China). One hundred years ago, when the father of modern Chinese architecture Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin rediscovered this temple for the first time, Liang proclaimed this to be "the No. 1 National Treasure of China." 五台山上的建筑从最早的北魏六角砖塔，到唐朝的佛光寺东大殿，到金朝的文殊殿，到元朝的大白塔，再到数不尽的明清建筑之光如金阁寺的大悲殿和大显通寺的铜殿。厚重的千年历史如同层层巨浪一般砸向我们的感官。 From the earliest Northern Wei hexagonal brick pagoda (5th Century AD) to the Tang Dynasty’s Foguang Temple Grand East Hall (857 AD), from the Jin Dynasty’s Hall of Manjusri (1137AD) to the Yuan Dynasty’s White Pagoda, and then to the countless Ming and Qing structures like the Hall of Guanyin of the Golden Pavilion and the Bronze Hall of Xiantong Temple—Mount Wutai’s architecture spans over millennia.
