Born in 1957 in Texas, he emerged in the early 1990s with a string of country hits including “On the Road,” “Tender Moment,” “Take These Chains from My Heart,” and “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am.” Parnell is especially admired for his expressive slide guitar work, which sets him apart from most mainstream country artists of his era. After stepping back from the spotlight in the 2000s, he returned with roots-oriented albums that leaned more heavily into blues and Americana, earning renewed respect for his authenticity and musicianship. #classiccountry #guitar #honkytonk
