Henry Cavill’s 40K Show Has One Perfect Starting Point
Could Eisenhorn be the perfect starting point for Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40K show on Amazon Prime? Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 series is one of the most exciting upcoming sci-fi adaptations, with Henry Cavill attached to the project and Games Workshop working with Amazon to bring the grimdark universe of 40K to the screen. But the biggest question remains: where should the show actually begin? In this video, we break down why Gregor Eisenhorn and the Inquisition might be the smartest way to introduce Warhammer 40K to a mainstream audience. Rather than starting with Space Marines, the Horus Heresy, the Primarchs, or a massive galaxy-wide war, Eisenhorn gives Amazon a more grounded entry point into the Imperium of Man, Chaos, heresy, daemons, alien threats, psychic horror, and the darker side of the 41st Millennium. Eisenhorn works because his story has mystery, investigation, conspiracy, corruption, moral compromise, and a human perspective, all while slowly revealing the scale and horror of the Warhammer 40K universe. It could be the ideal way to introduce new viewers to the Imperium, the Inquisition, the Warp, Chaos cults, Space Marines, and the grim darkness of the far future without overwhelming them from episode one. We’ll also look at why Amazon’s Warhammer 40K show should be careful about starting too big, why Space Marines may work better when used sparingly at first, and why Eisenhorn could give Henry Cavill’s Warhammer series the best chance of success. This is not confirmed, Amazon has not officially announced Eisenhorn as the story for the Warhammer 40K series, but if the goal is to make 40K work as prestige sci-fi television, Eisenhorn may be the perfect door into the setting. Do you think Amazon should start with Eisenhorn, Space Marines, the Imperial Guard, the Horus Heresy, or something completely original? Let us know in the comments.
