She drew on her own observations as well as concepts from psychoanalysis, psychology, psychotherapy, and systems theory. This clinical practice has been theorized by other psychoanalysts, such as Françoise Dolto, Iván Boszormenyi-Nagy, and Didier Dumas. It draws its inspiration from the work of Nicolas Abraham and Mária Török. Psychogenealogy is a relatively new method that identifies certain negative and repetitive psychological family patterns. It highlights the complex, sometimes secret, generational links woven throughout family history. The idea is to address these old patterns in order to break the chain of psychological inheritance passed from one generation to the next. I really like the sepia illustrations.
