I absolutely recommend the new MPD218. The workmanship is very good, the knobs are robust and they do not wiggle. The pads are very thick and they give you an excellent feeling. They have Velocity and Aftertouch and the sensitivity is great. The pads also have a very bright, red backlight. You can even see it during the day (It looks awesome! 😍). The MPD 218 is very thin. It has rubber feet, so it does not slip. All in all, the Akai MPD 218 feels very good. The good workmanship and the great pads do not let you not think about a 100$-device!
