Bass In The Ballroom (Newsome) Played by Phil Goodwin This is the last ever performance by the CWS Manchester Band on the 31st March 1985 at Dobcross Band Club. Platt Lane, Dobcross, Saddleworth OL3 5AD. The band played a particularly heavy program and every solo instrument chair was required to stand up and show off. There were tears on the night. Farewell CWS. The Cooperative Wholesale Society were so stupid to 'delete' this musical institution when the costs of maintaining it were so paltry in the grand scheme of things.
