POSTMODERN JUKEBOX - WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU & PROUD MARY Ladies of PMJ Open Show in Orlando 8/15/2025

Postmodern Jukebox, the rotating mucial collective known for reworking popular modern music into different vintage genres, opened their show with the lovely ladies of PMJ, Tia Simone on lead with April Varner and Kyndle Wylde, performing shorter but sweet combined covers of What I Like About You and Proud Mary in the style of the Tina Turner's cover, with a terrific sax solo by Kyle Morgan at the Steinmetz Hall in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Orlando, Florida on August 15, 2025. What I Like About You was written by Wally Palmar, Mike Skill and Jimmy Marinos and was the sixth track and hit single on new wave band The Romantics eponymous debut album released in January 1980. Proud Mary was written by John Fogerty and was the sixth track and sole single from Bayou Country, Creedence Clearwater Revival's second studio album released in January 1969. CCR's reached number 2 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and was a world wide hit. Ike & Tina Turner's cover reached number 4 in the same chart in 1971, although it did win a Grammy award for Best R & B Vocal Performance by a group.
