We were shooting a documentary film in the former Buchenwald concentration camp, and suddenly an angry blonde, a fury, jumped out of the administrative building and pounced on us with the words: “Do you have a permission to shoot?” We had no idea that any permission was needed. We went to the press department, the permission was immediately issued, and we came back. And, curiously, that blond lady did not come out to us anymore. It didn't occur to her that she needed to go out and check if we got the permission. Apparently, she proceeded from the fact that her words must be fulfilled unquestioningly and there could be no doubt about this. I even thought for a second: maybe she was left over from the old days? Maybe she had served there in a concentration camp? I'm kidding, of course.
