According to investigators, this morning at an intersection in Shimizu-cho, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, Kaoru Mitoma's (29) car collided with a bicycle as it entered the intersection. As a result of the accident, the woman in her 40s riding the bicycle sustained injuries to her left hand requiring two weeks to heal. Mitoma was not injured. Mitoma reportedly started his car after being distracted by the pedestrian signal turning green, but the traffic light for vehicles was apparently red at the time.
