All people who work and receive remuneration are required to contribute to SOCIAL SECURITY. This is even stipulated in the CONSTITUTION. So if you work and are not registered in a work booklet, you don't have a contract under the CLT (Brazilian Labor Law), you are an #INDIVIDUAL-CONTRIBUTOR. Now, if you do not perform any paid activity and still want to be covered by #SOCIAL-SECURITY, you can contribute as a #VOLUNTARY-CONTRIBUTOR.
