At a 3:30pm local time session on the 6th of January 2025, the two superstars began their preparation for the Australian Open with an intense hit out under the roof at Melbourne Park. This video captures Carlos Alcaraz's new service technique from court level in standard view, zoom view and slow motion from both the deuce and advantage courts. The world got it's first glimpse of his new technique at the 2025 Australian Open and there was a lot of talk in the tennis world around the changes during the week leading up to the 1st round. He has chosen to opt for the full motion instead of his old abbreviated motion in order to get more fluidity through his swing. You see the racquet drop through the take back close the timing gap he had previously in the trophy position. From a biomechanics perspective, this is ideal for power generation.
