Mortimer Ghost Town in North Carolina
Once a thriving lumber town in the early 1900's it was devastated by a fire and flood in 1916 and once again in 1940. The area today is part of Pisgah National Forest and nature is reclaiming much of the place. Wilson Creek is a nice place to take in the nature and with an array of outdoor activities to do. As I roamed around the area I could see traces from the old town.
