What Pragmata Says About Society
Pragmata is a great game from many standpoints. Its mechanics, aesthetics and emotional ploys are excellent. There's also no "political" pandering. But sometimes even a good game can say something negative about where society is going. While the game is catering to and celebrating fatherly instincts, ultimately in the context of modern life, it can’t fix the overarching social, political and economic problems that are making real-life relationships and family formation more difficult. Thus the game unintentionally becomes a mere outlet for fatherly impulses. Sadly, in this regard, an otherwise great game becomes somewhat akin to a kind of pornography.
