NEW Digital Immersive Museum Was So Much Fun: Wonderia in Yokohama BASE GATE

Have you ever been to a digital museum where you can catch animals and learn about them on your phone? 📱 I visited Wonderia, a brand new immersive digital museum in Yokohama on its grand opening day… and honestly, I didn’t expect to have this much fun! Using their interactive app, you can explore 6 different zones, find and “catch” animals, learn about these animals from information "cards," complete missions, and even earn rewards like coupons for merchandise and café food. It turns the whole unique experience into a real-life game! In this video, I’ll take you inside Wonderia, show you how the app works, and share some stunning examples of digital art enhanced by the placement of mirrors. If you’re looking for fun things to do in Yokohama (or Japan in general), this place might be worth adding to your list! You don't have to download the app to enjoy the immersive digital art, but it is a lot of fun and quite educational. You can reserve tickets online. Prices depend on the specific dates you plan to go, with peak seasons and weekends being a bit more expensive. I felt it was very organized on the Opening Day so it did not seem overly crowded or uncomfortable. Two things to keep in mind are that there are mirrored floors in some zones and you must pay for tickets, merchandise, and cafe food by cashless payments. Only the Gachapon machines use coins.
