Хребет Каратау. Репортаж из затерянного мира.

The Karatau Range is located on the border of the Chelyabinsk Region and Bashkortostan, at the junction of the Russian Plain and the Urals. It's a true wilderness and a Berendey kingdom. There are no roads across the range. There are no human settlements here, and the only ones you see are clearings where the repressed once lived. The rivers flowing down the range disappear underground, and for many kilometers they flow there, far from the sun. Wild animals are the true masters here. Time seems to stand still, in no hurry. Karatau is for connoisseurs and gourmets. Make yourself comfortable – it's all about to happen! This is a story about a short hike to the main peak of Karatau, Mount Aktobe. I must say, there was something special about that summer, when climbing the mountains was incredibly difficult for me. Now, thank God, that's all behind me.
