They Begged for Food, Then Love Came to Their Village

In a village just five minutes from Love A Child, families were begging for food. Their homes are made of mud, grass, and palm leaves, but today, hope came to the table. This is not just a story about hunger in Haiti. It is a reminder that Jesus sees the poor, the hungry, and the forgotten. In this moving episode of Love A Child, Bobby and Sherry visit Old Letant, a deeply impoverished village where families live in fragile mud huts and walk long distances for water. The need is urgent, the area is dangerous, and many families have been crying out, “Please bring us food.” Love A Child brings 43,200 meals to hungry families, with each box providing 216 meals. Mothers receive food to take home, and hundreds of children are served a hot meal made with rice, peas, carrots, onions, vitamins, minerals, and protein-rich ingredients. You will see the heartbreaking reality of poverty in Haiti, but also the beauty of faith in action. In the middle of hunger, danger, and hardship, love still shows up. As Isaiah 58 reminds us, when we offer ourselves to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted, God brings light into dark places.
