L'incubo di Chi Lavora ad Ibiza: L'inferno sulla Terra

Ibiza is portrayed as the island of freedom, endless parties, and easy opportunities. Every summer, thousands of young people leave, convinced that finding a seasonal job will provide them with three months of their dream: sea, clubs, quick money, and an unconventional life. I went to the island to understand what really happens to those who work there. I investigated the world of seasonal workers by entering apartments hidden behind the island's glossy image. I saw overcrowded homes, shared rooms, makeshift beds in tiny living rooms, and rents that easily exceed €1,000–€1,500 a month for just a few square meters. In some cases, they end up paying crazy amounts to live in dirty, degraded conditions, without a contract and without any protection. Finding accommodation is often a nightmare: listings that disappear in a matter of hours, landlords demanding months' rent in advance in cash, irregular sublets, and people forced to sleep in their cars or share apartments with ten, fifteen, or twenty people. Then there's the work. Grueling shifts, unsustainable pace, undeclared or partially declared payments, promises that change once they arrive on the island. Many accept any condition just to avoid missing out and recoup travel and rent expenses. I was able to speak with those who live this reality every day, people who opened the doors of their homes to me and told me what it really means to "do the season" in Ibiza. I also interviewed industry experts to understand how the island's real estate market works, why prices have exploded, and why this system continues to hold up despite being so public. Behind the clubs that make millions and the always-full hotels lies a parallel world of precariousness, compromise, and survival. This video shows what you don't see on Instagram stories, what doesn't make it into perfect vacation reels. The dream of Ibiza, for many, comes at a much higher cost than they imagine. www.alemontesi.com Thanks to SONY for the equipment! SONY ZV e-10: https://www.sony.it/electronics/fotoc...
