In addition to the learning materials and course content, each distance education technician certificate course provides simulation tools used to perform real world experiments as well as create real world programming applications. The animation takes a look at the LogixSim tool suite and its components. Interactive switches, motors, and bulbs can be used along with several interactive virtual instruments to create and test various electrical circuits both AC and DC. CircuitLogix is a powerful spice based schematic capture and electronics simulation software package featuring several in depth analysis. This package is ideal for simulating digital, analog as well as mixed mode electronics circuits. Interactive digital and mixed mode simulation allow for visual feedback and stimulus for a wide range of electronics applications. Parameter sweeps allow for multiple runs of a circuit schematic while component values are varied. PLCLogix is an RSLogix 5000 series based PLC simulation package featuring several real world 3D environments. The package includes an I/O rack with discrete, bcd, as well as analog I/O for use in a wide variety of applications. It uses the Tag based addressing system currently employed by Rockwell Automations Control Logix series of controllers. It provides a robust instruction set, a tag monitor as well as editor for easy monitoring of program execution, and a host of environments in which to create, test, and run a wide range of PLC ladder logic programs.
