Tonnes of fish self launching. Sunk the nets in 5 min. Filled the lobster & crab pot bait tubs.

Well as my dad was busy, I decided to go on my own. I was planning on getting the last bit of the flood tide, up to high water. I self launched on an anchor, rowed off the beach, then steamed a few hundred yards and shot the herring drift nets. The time I motored back to the inside end, the buoys were standing up, and the middle ones starting to sink. I then got the boat ready to haul, had a quick chat with Paul in his cheetah cat, then hauled the gear. They were literally drifting for 5 mins. Well the herring were thick as hell. I got the boat on the trailer and drove the tractor back to the car park. I then started to clean the nets, and dad turned up to give me a hand. He then went to the optician, and I then filled the bait tubs, salting down the herring for the lobster and crab pots this summer. We took 4 slack boxes over to lowestoft fish market, iced them up and put them in the chiller ready for auction.
