👉 Discover the LUNG LO Journey on the "Legendary" Palace Pass in Northwest Vietnam Lung Lo pass (Van Chan district) - a place that has gone down in history books during the nation's heroic resistance war against the French as a legend. Where To Huu once wrote heroic verses: “Fa Din slope you carry, you carry Lung Lo pass he sings, sister sings Even though the bombs and bullets broke the bones, Do not lose heart, do not regret the green age ... ". Lung Lo Pass is located on Highway 37 (the old road 379, connecting National Highway 32 with Highway 32B) at the boundary of two districts of Van Chan (Yen Bai) and Phu Yen (Son La). Lung Lo Pass has a length of 15 km. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, the Party Central Committee decided to open road 13A, starting from Ben Hien, Tuyen Quang province, crossing Au Lau wharf, passing through Lung Lo pass to Co Noi junction, connecting with road 41 service for the Dien Bien Phu campaign. The route is over 120 km long, the terrain is mainly high mountains and deep abyss. It has to go through 3 big rivers, namely Chay river, Red river and Da river. As the lifeline, supplying food, military equipment, weapons and ammunition for the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, for that reason, road 13A through Lung Lo Pass became the key point of enemy raids, in order to prevent rear reinforcements to the battlefield. This place used to suffer about 12,000 tons of enemy bombs and bullets and every day from 16 to 18 enemy planes bombed 5-6 times. The solidarity and unity in labor and combat of cadres, soldiers, TNXP forces and the people of ethnic groups in Yen Bai province is the strength that makes the historic 13A road, contributing to the Dien Victory. Bien Phu and the process of socio-economic development in the two provinces of Yen Bai and Son La. Until today, the war has receded, the Lung Lo pass relic is still there as a heroic proof of his father's history of fighting against foreign invaders.
