NICE Project Final Event

We celebrated the final event of the H2020 NICE project, in which, under the coordination of CETIM, work has been carried out to create a circular urban water system through the development and implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). Within NICE, we have investigated a range of techniques to enhance and expand the application of these solutions, including the use of adsorbent substrates and microorganisms for the removal of emerging contaminants, plants for pathogen removal, materials for nutrient recovery, aeration optimisation for the treatment of conventional pollutants, and vertical gardens for the treatment and reuse of greywater. These solutions have been tested and validated in Real Urban Living Labs across several European countries, including Spain, France, Italy, Poland and Denmark, as well as in countries beyond Europe such as Egypt, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No.101003765. Video produced by ‪@AgoraNews-y3v‬
