Reading or listening to Juan Rulfo read his own work, or rather recite it or, even better, perform it, is a moving experience. In this case, as in "Luvina" (from 'El llano en llamas'). The tone and cadence with which the writer pronounces the words and sentences seem to reflect the deep content of his texts, the scars of rural geography that wound the human spirit.
