Phukthal Monastery Trek | Zanskar Valley | Ladakh

Phugtal Monastery, also known as Phugtal Gompa, is a unique Buddhist monastery nestled in the remote Zanskar Valley, Ladakh. Built into the cliffside of a natural cave, it appears to hang dramatically from the rock face like a honeycomb.. Surrounded by rugged mountains and peace, Phugtal Monastery offers a rare glimpse into traditional monastic life, far removed from the modern world. This trek starts from Purne and is a 4-5KM round trip. The average elevation of this entire train is 14000ft. Its very tiring trek. It took us ~6hr to complete the trek. We start at around 11AM and came back by 5 PM. But the view throughout of the Sharap River is outstanding.
