Teacher Abby Zwerner shot by child, 6, testifies in $40 MIL lawsuit | FULL TESTIMONY

Abby Zwerner Civil Trial: On Thursday, Abby Zwerner took the stand, recalling how she thought she was going to die after being shot by her 6-year-old student in 2023. She described the lasting impact of the incident, from ongoing physical struggles, like being unable to open bags or water bottles due to her hand injury, to the strain it’s placed on her relationships with family and friends. "I thought I had died. I thought I was either on my way to heaven or in heaven," Zwerner testified. "But then it all got black. And so, I then thought I wasn't going there. And then my next memory is I see two co-workers around me, and I process that I'm hurt and they're putting pressure on where I'm hurt." Zwerner no longer works for the school district and has said she has no plans to teach again. It was revealed in court that she has become a licensed cosmetologist.
