7º dia novena de São Josemaria Escrivá

7th Day of the Novena of Work: Maturing in Virtues Through Work Reflection: Words of Saint Josemaría Escrivá “Everything in which we poor men intervene – even holiness – is a fabric of small insignificances which, according to the intention with which they are done, can form a splendid tapestry of heroism or baseness, of virtues or sins.” 15. “It is a whole web of virtues that comes into play when we exercise our profession with the purpose of sanctifying it: fortitude, to persevere in work, despite natural difficulties; temperance, to overcome complacency and selfishness; justice, to fulfill our duties to God, to society, to family, to colleagues; prudence, to know in each case what is appropriate to do and to launch ourselves into the work without delay. And all for Love.” 16. Intentions A: A: To find work | B: To do a good job A: So that, with the help of Our Lady, I may find the job I have been looking for. And that, by fully immersing myself in this new job, God may help me to develop Christian virtues through it and to mature spiritually. May I strive to be patient and understanding, both with superiors and with colleagues and subordinates; may I be simple and humble, avoiding vanity and ostentation; may I do everything, in short, with purity of heart. B: So that God may help me to develop Christian virtues through work and to mature spiritually. May I strive to be patient and understanding, both with superiors and with colleagues and subordinates; may I be simple and humble, avoiding vanity and ostentation; may I do everything, in short, with purity of heart. Pray the prayer to Saint Josemaría: O God, who through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary granted countless graces to Saint Josemaría, priest, choosing him as a most faithful instrument to found Opus Dei, a path to sanctification in professional work and in the fulfillment of the daily duties of a Christian, grant that I may also know how to convert at all times, to love and serve with joy and simplicity the Church, the Roman Pontiff and souls, illuminating the paths of the Earth with the splendor of faith and love. Grant me through the intercession of Saint Josemaría the favor I ask of you. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
