Scottie Scheffler returns to defend his title and is in action for the first time since the Presidents Cup. The World No. 1 has won seven times in 2024 - plus the gold medal at the Paris Olympics – and has 16 top-10 finishes in 19 starts this year. Scheffler was nominated for the Jack Nicklaus Award as PGA TOUR Player of the Year and is looking to become the first player to win the award three years in a row since Woods in 2005-07. Justin Thomas will also be in the field this week. After three straight fifth-place finishes in the event, he set a personal best with a solo third last year at Albany. He claimed T2 in his last start at ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP. Ludvig Åberg returned to the TOUR after knee surgery in September to defend his title at The RSM Classic, where he finished T17, and will look to build on that success at Albany in his first time competing in the event.
