The Kapuas 3 Bridge is a West Kalimantan government program planned to connect Mempawah Regency, Kubu Raya Regency, and Pontianak City. The bridge's purpose is to alleviate traffic congestion in Pontianak, due to the increasing volume of vehicles entering and leaving the city. However, access to and from Pontianak is limited to three bridges and two duplicate bridges, which are still insufficient to alleviate congestion within the city. Why is a bridge necessary for entry and exit? Because Pontianak is geographically bisected by the longest river in Indonesia, the Kapuas River. Without a bridge, it would be difficult to enter and exit Pontianak, especially since only one ferry is currently operating. Please watch the following video until the end.
