Home laser engraving isn't as complicated as it might seem at first glance. This video will discuss the intricacies and nuances of working with Class 4 lasers. We'll also touch on programs like ACMER Studio and LightBurn. I tested the laser with all available materials in and around my home. The only materials I couldn't find were black acrylic (transparent ones aren't suitable for LED lasers) and colored ceramics, which would cover the basic list of materials. Lasers are also very convenient for making printed circuit boards. An LED laser won't engrave copper, but it will easily burn off paint or varnish previously applied to the copper surface. Regarding metal engraving, an LED laser can engrave steel and stainless steel, but it's very slow, and the laser doesn't like this very much, as it's not designed for engraving on shiny surfaces.
