The Tactical Games: Building a Brand and Getting to Know the Owners Behind it

The Tactical Games is one of the fastest-growing shooting sports in the country. The sport combines fitness and shooting by testing speed, strength, agility, and marksmanship. Sound like fun? Then this might be for you! Founded in 2018 by Tim Burke, the sport continues gaining traction among fitness and firearm enthusiasts. Why might you ask? From personal experience, I think it's the desire to challenge yourself in different ways, and, the sense of belonging to a community truly like no other. Nick and Amanda Thayer purchased the Tactical Games in early 2023 from the second owner and current competitor, Jared Halbert. Lauren Kalil sat down with the Thayer's after wrapping up the 2024 season to talk about why they decided to purchase the company, their vision to continue growing the brand, what's in store for 2025, and some tips for first-time competitors including myself!
