In the breathtaking landscapes of Nubra Valley, I experienced something truly unforgettable. Tourists from afar joined us to explore not only the beauty of the valley but also its rich traditions. My friend’s mother, whom we lovingly call Ama, prepared traditional Ladakhi dishes in the most authentic way baking Khambir bread on hot stone over fire. She served it with the famous Ladakhi salted butter tea, a flavor that was both unique and comforting. Later, steaming momos and hearty thukpa added warmth to the chilly mountain air. The joy of sharing these meals under the open sky, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, was beyond words. Tourists dressed in traditional Ladakhi attire, capturing photographs that reflected the culture and charm of the valley.
