Road trip – is a holiday with an electric car currently possible in the Mecklenburg Lake District? We embarked on a grand tour and tested public charging stations in one of Germany's largest districts, the Mecklenburg Lake District, and the adjacent northern part of Brandenburg. We focused on the hotspots and tourist attractions. Of course, many hosts also provide private charging stations for their guests, and from our perspective, a holiday with an electric car in Mecklenburg is currently quite feasible. However, looking ahead, there are currently only 176 public charging stations in all of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and especially given the current increase in registration figures, this number needs to be expanded and improved. As one of Germany's top holiday destinations, we believe Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should lead by example and warmly welcome guests with plug-in hybrids and, in particular, battery-electric vehicles!
