The temple was envisioned by Mr. Sridhar from Attur in 2014, who wanted to create a grand place of worship dedicated to Lord Murugan. The foundation stone was laid on March 13, 2016, marking the beginning of this ambitious project. To bring this vision to life, Mr. Sridhar collaborated with the renowned sculptor Thiruvarur Thiagarajan, who had previously crafted a 140-foot Murugan statue in Malaysia. The temple features a 146-foot statue of Lord Murugan, which is the tallest in the world. This statue represents various postures of Murugan as seen in the six sacred abodes, known as the Aarupadai Veedu, offering devotees a unique spiritual experience. The temple's construction incorporated soil from famous temples across Tamil Nadu, symbolizing a deep spiritual connection. The grand Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) took place on April 6, 2022, after 48 days of continuous Yagam (rituals). The event drew over 300,000 devotees and included a dramatic flower shower from a helicopter, adding to the divine atmosphere.
