November 29, 1989, at the Tokyo Dome. The then-reborn UWF, with its unparalleled momentum, held a major event called "U-COSMOS," featuring six mixed martial arts matches between UWF and world-class fighters from the United States, the Netherlands, Thailand, and other countries. Megane Super served as the title sponsor, and the event's official name was "Megane Super PRESENTS U-COSMOS." Thanks to UWF's immense popularity, the event drew a crowd of 60,000. TBS also aired a special program titled "UWF Special: New Martial Arts Legends - Mixed Martial Arts World Showdown," marking the new UWF's first terrestrial broadcast. In addition to the Aurora Vision back screen, two other large screens were installed at the venue.
