Matt Brewer aims to carve out own path in crowded race for Chicago mayor - The Point
Matt Brewer has never run for office, but he's not new to politics. He recently served as interim CEO of the Chicago Housing Authority, leaving that position after a public power struggle with Mayor Brandon Johnson. Brewer insists his campaign won't be centered on the feud. WGN Political Editor Tahman Bradley caught up with Brewer at The Wiener's Circle, where Brewer also serves as co-owner. --- 'The Point' airs on WGN and streams on WGN+ each weeknight at 6:45 p.m. CT. Airdate: July 10, 2026
