Chordplay - The Chords Of Montrose
Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Montrose. The late-great Ronnie Montrose is a guitar legend of significant influence and direction from the 1970s and beyond, and this lesson targets a number of his slick chord-based ideas and movements on the guitar. The ideas in this lesson mainly come from the classic 'Montrose' album from 1973, which also featured a young Sammy Hagar on vocals. Aside from hitting several classic tracks from that popular and massively influential album, we're also targeting a nearly-forgotten song from Montrose's prog-rock Gamma project during the late 1970s and early 1980s. There's plenty to sink your teeth into in this lesson, which moves from ringing power chord riffs and gritty blues-rock grooves, to thumb-based fretted chord ideas, bouncy slapback delay ideas, smeared double-stops riffs with vibrato, and much more! If you're already a fan, you'll find plenty of blasts from the past in this lesson, but if you're a newcomer to Ronnie's rowdy six-string magic then buckle your safety belts - because you're in for quite the rock-and-roll ride in this lesson.
