Big Boy "Coast to Coast" Tour: UP 4014 Charging East Through A Rainy Feather River Canyon (4-12-26)

Shout-out to the Union Pacific Railroad and their Steam Team for making all of this possible! Thank you for all the work you did to make these amazing excursions happen! To mark the 250th anniversary of the USA's founding, UP embarked on a "Coast to Coast Tour" with Big Boy 4014. Starting in Cheyenne, the world's largest steam engine marched west to California to officially start the tour in Sacramento, the western starting point of the first Transcontinental Railroad. The original plan was to have 4014 lead the tour eastbound over the legendary Donner Pass. However, the decision was made by someone within the UP chain of command to detour back through the Feather River Canyon due to unfavorable weather on Donner. We will start our eastbound chase in the flatlands of Lincoln, the town of Wheatland, and the charming neighborhoods of Marysville before getting up to the canyon, where we will see them multiple times between Poe and Spring Garden. Enjoy! #bigboy4014 #unionpacificrailroad #steamtrain #unionpacificsteamteam
