07 | Sailing the Sea of Cortez on a Wooden Boat, La Paz and Espiritu Santo
We sailed around Cabo San Lucas and into the Sea of Cortez. There were some challenging upwind miles before reaching the cruising grounds around the lovely town of La Paz. For several weeks, we sailed the beautiful desert islands of Isla Espiritu Santo and Isla Partida. This part of the Gulf of California has rugged landscapes, ancient cactus groves, and rich wildlife. Julia is an Atkin Designed Ingrid Ketch, built in 1960 in Desolation Sound. She is traditionally built of fir and cedar planking on a fir backbone and oak frames. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Music credits: Lonely Road by From Ashes / fromashesedm Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/lonely-road-from-ashes Music promoted by Audio Library • Lonely Road – From Ashes (No Copyright Music)
